Massimo Lisi has been a cocktail bartender for over 40 years and has competed in competitions all over the world. In 2003, he represented UK at the bar tender world championships. He started with his family when they opened Aperitif, which was a well-known bar and restaurant in Stranraer for over 45 years.

The Home Cook School

Lindsay Guidi, the owner of Home Cook School, will be giving a demonstration at the Festival of Food and Drink. Her workshops focus on practical, easy to make, cooked from scratch recipes. She will use a lot of the produce available from the Festival stalls.

Wendy Barrie
The Scottish Food Guide

Wendy Barrie, Scottish Thistle Award Regional Ambassador, professional cook, presenter, food writer and educator, Wendy established her award-winning quality assured guides www.scottishfoodguide.scot and www.scottishcheesetrail.com in 2002. Dedicated to biodiversity and food heritage, Wendy is Scotland’s Leader for the Ark of Taste, and Slow Food Cooks Alliance Member. She'll be demonstrating at the Festival of Food and Drink this June.

We're also delighted to be joined by Szymon who wants to inspire you to live seasonally, become more self sufficient and help you to reconnect with nature. Join Szymon on her foraging walks to learn how to safely identify and sustainably harvest delicious wild edibles. We recommend that foraging is pre-booked as there are limited spaces on each walk.

Pre-book foraging tickets online for £5 (does not include festival admission) or £7.50 if bookedon the day.

Go Fly Your Kite

 Come along to a fabulous free kite workshop. Design your own kite, trace your own special image onto your kite, colour it with waterproof pens and Go Fly Your Kite at the end of the workshop!

Kite making workshops will be ongoing throughout Saturday and Sunday - look out for timings outside the marquee.

Not only do we have Go Fly Your Kite workshops for our younger visitors, just along from the Festival site is Craigiemains Garden Centre who will have these amazing inflatables onsite over the Festival weekend. They also have their own miniature train “Ayrshire Princess” running around the Garden Centre grounds to take a trip on.
